The New Taipei CTBC DEA (Chinese: 新北中信特攻) are a Taiwanese professional basketball team based in New Taipei City. They have competed in the T1 League since the 2021–22 season, and play their home games at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium and Taipei Dome. The DEA became one of the six teams of the inaugural T1 League season.
On May 21, 2023, the New Taipei CTBC DEA defeated the Tainan TSG GhostHawks, 4–0, winning the 2022–23 season championship.
History
2021: Team creation
The CTBC DEA announced their establishment on July 30, 2021, name "DEA" was inspired from the Drug Enforcement Administration, one of United States federal law enforcement agencies.
On August 4, 2021, the CTBC DEA acquired 1st round pick from Kaohsiung Aquas. Later in the 2021 draft, they drafted Shih Hsin small forward Mohammad Al Bachir Gadiaga and Chien Hsin Tech shooting guard Hsieh Ya-Hsuan. Al Bachir lived in Taiwan since he was 8 years old,and he was also the second naturalization player of the Chinese Taipei men's national basketball team.
팀은 2003년에 창단되었으며, 2010년에 P.리그에 가입했다. 이후 팀은 2013년과 2014년에 리그 우승을 차지했고, 2015년에는 준우승을 차지했다.
팀의 주요 선수는 가오성위, 린지엔마오, 시아하오전 등이다. 가오성위는 대만 국가대표팀의 주장이며, 린지엔마오는 P.리그의 MVP를 두 번 수상한 경력을 가지고 있다. 시아하오전은 대만 국가대표팀의 주전 센터이며, 2015년에 P.리그의 올스타전에 선정되었다.
뉴타이베이 CTBC DEA는 대만의 강팀 중 하나이며, 항상 우승 경쟁에 참여하고 있다. 팀은 빠른 템포의 공격과 강인한 수비로 유명하다.
